Alternatives to Suicide Peer Support Group Facilitator Training


This 3-day training sponsored by the Division of Mental Health and Addition will be held from May 2 - 4, 2022 in Indianapolis and is free of charge thanks to funding from the SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith State Youth Suicide Prevention grant, A Focus in Community, State & Peer Collaboration: Striving to Achieve Zero Suicides in Indiana. The Alternatives to Suicide approach was developed by the Wildflower Alliance in 2009 as one of the only peer-to-peer groups that focuses primarily on the topic of suicide.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  1. have the ability to attend all 3-days,

  2. are interested in starting a support group in their community, and

  3. who have experienced thoughts of suicide in the past.
