This topic is one of the top five most requested professional development needs identified by youth workers across our state.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are stressful or traumatic events occurring in childhood that potentially have long-term effects. According to the 2022 Kids Count Data Book™ ACEs highlight the potential impact of abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction on later-life health outcomes for adults. Children and youth in Indiana tend to report higher instances of traumatic and ACEs than young people nationally.
