VA’s Lethal Means Safety Education & Counseling for Providers is available on the TRAIN platform and is designed to enhance conversations and efforts with individuals to secure lethal means, including firearms and medications, during times of crisis. We know it can be difficult to talk about suicide and providers can face challenges knowing how to talk about firearm secure storage. The VA believes this can help providers enhance their comfort and competency in having these critical discussions to save lives.
