In this session from the United Way, participants will learn what cultural and historic trauma are, why these concepts matter in a social-service context, and models for pursuing community healing. This includes a discussion of how trauma and mental health challenges can be passed down generationally (epigenetics), an overview of common signs and symptoms, and an exploration of how organizations and communities are incorporating this knowledge into their practices.
