CMHW policy highlight for the month
Learn the distinction between a Child-Focused Treatment Review versus a Child and Family Team.
The Child-Focused Treatment Review process has been established to review the request to admit a child to residential treatment. The CFTR will evaluate the child’s needs, determine if admission to residential treatment is appropriate and, if determined appropriate, identify which residential treatment facility will best meet the needs of the child and family. It is important to note that CFTR is in no way a process, policy or component of the CMHW program.
The Child and Family Team meeting is designed to provide the support and resources needed to assist in developing and implementing an individualized Plan of Care. Individuals selected for the team include the participant, family, Wraparound Facilitator, service providers, non-service providers that support the participant and family, and anyone else the participant and family feel will benefit the treatment process.
