There are two primary goals in child protective services (CPS): 1) ensuring child safety and 2) supporting families before they risk losing custody of their children. LGBTQ+ youth are at greater risk for family rejection and violence. Using an intersectional lens, this webinar will explore ways that CPS workers can include sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression (SOGIE) in their assessment, follow-up, and support of the families they serve.
